Orygen Specialist Programs (OSP), part of Melbourne Health, provides early intervention mental health services for young people aged 12–24, addressing complex needs like psychosis, mood, personality disorders, and co-occurring conditions. In partnership with Orygen, it supports headspace centres and includes the HYPE program, which offers evidence-based early intervention for young people with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and related mental health issues.

About the role:
Your success in this role, will be your ability to:
- Provide comprehensive clinical case management and psychological therapy to clients of the HYPE Stream
- HYPE’s model of Relational Clinical Care comprises assertive clinical case management, general psychiatric care, individual psychotherapy (using Cognitive Analytic Therapy), family work and other supports such a vocational-educational support. Applicants do not have to have training in cognitive analytic therapy and will receive training and supervision for such while in this role.
- The Clinical Case Manager works within a specialist multidisciplinary team environment and is responsible for devising, implementing and evaluating an appropriate treatment plan for each young person and their family. This involves provision of highly skilled clinical assessments, psychological treatments, home-based assertive outreach to facilitate engagement and case management tasks, such as liaison with other agencies and advocacy on behalf of the young person
- Function autonomously, carry a caseload of clients, participate in clinical review meetings and practice according to the philosophy and protocols of the service
- Provide interventions to clients from a range of Clinical Streams and spend time working within other programs such as the Youth Access Team or the Outreach team
About you:
Formal Qualifications
- This is a multidisciplinary role open to Grade 4 Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Grade 3 Social Workers, Psychologists or Occupational Therapists (must hold relevant degree, registration and/or membership as per attached Position Description)
Essential
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in provision of mental health treatment, including with young people
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with young people & families
- Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of the rationale and evidence for early intervention in mental illness
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
