Senior Health Information Manager

- Join Orygen Specialist Program, a youth mental health service, as the Senior Health Information Manager (HIM) (Grade 4).
- Full-time, ongoing role based at Parkville with travel to other sites as needed.

Orygen Specialist Program (OSP), a program of the Royal Melbourne Hospital, provides specialist mental health services for young people aged 12 to 25 and focuses on providing early intervention to young people with severe and complex mental illness.
The role of Senior Health Information Manager is responsible for the governance and management of health information across OSP and works to ensure health information management remains responsive to the changing landscape of health service delivery. This occurs in partnership with areas of key accountability, including the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Department of Health.
Your new role:
- Contribute as a member of the OSP leadership team to develop, align and engage our people to achieve the organisation’s strategic goals and operational priorities.
- Provide effective leadership and governance for OSP in the management of health information.
- Lead and develop the Health Information Services team, focusing on creating a healthy and performance-oriented culture focused on accountability, quality and lifelong learning.
- Build strong strategic relationships with Royal Melbourne Hospital and OSP partners, including Orygen, Area Mental Health Services in the north-west corridor, community and primary healthcare partners, the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist, Department of Health, and other key stakeholders.
About you:
- Relevant qualifications in health information management as well as eligibility for membership of the HIMAA.
- Preferred previous experience in mental health services and in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with colleagues, young people and families/carers.
- Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team.
- Knowledge of the rationale and evidence for early intervention in mental illness.
