About the Royal Melbourne Hospital
The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals. As a team of more than 10,000 strong, we provide a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services; as well as rehabilitation, aged care, outpatient and community programs.
Our Microbiology service supports patient care across RMH City Campus, Royal Park Campus and Melbourne Private Hospital, providing testing in bacteriology, serology, molecular microbiology and more.
About the Role
- Participate in weekday, weekend, evening and night shift rosters
- Work across all areas of the Microbiology Department, including bacteriology, serology and molecular biology
- Contribute to the delivery of accurate, timely diagnostic results
- Support quality assurance, continuous improvement and new test development
- Maintain patient confidentiality and a strong customer focus
About you
- Formal Qualifications of Bachelor of Science, Applied Science or equivalent qualification
- Hold a valid Victorian (employee) Working With Children's Check
- Experience in a clinical diagnostic Microbiology laboratory
- Experience in Molecular Microbiology (desirable)
- Recognised scientific training with knowledge of diagnostic methods, quality systems and laboratory IT
- Professional approach to patient care and service delivery
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to work collaboratively with scientists, clinicians and pathologists
