Rostering Systems Administrator

About the Role

Join Melbourne Health Financial Shared Services (MHFSS) as a Rostering Systems Administrator and play an important role in supporting the systems that underpin rostering and payroll across The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

 

Reporting to the Payroll Systems Manager, you’ll provide technical and administrative support across rostering systems, helping maintain data accuracy, system integrity and a positive experience for users. Working closely with Payroll, People & Culture, Finance, IT and operational teams, you’ll contribute to the smooth and effective use of rostering systems across a large and complex health service.

 

This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working with systems, solving problems and improving processes, with the opportunity to build your expertise in rostering and payroll systems while making a meaningful contribution to the people and services of RMH.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • System Support & Maintenance – Support the day-to-day administration of payroll and rostering systems, including user access, data updates and configuration changes, with a focus on critical activities throughout the pay fortnight.
  • User Support & Training – Provide first-level support to system users, responding to queries and resolving issues relating to system functionality, data entry and reporting.
  • Testing & Implementation – Participate in testing and implementation of system upgrades, patches and new functionality, helping ensure changes are accurate and fit for purpose.
  • Reporting & Analytics – Generate routine and ad hoc reports from payroll and rostering systems to support operational requirements and informed decision-making.
  • Compliance & Governance – Maintain system configurations in line with relevant legislation, industrial awards, Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs) and internal policies and procedures.

 

About You

 

You will bring:

  • Experience supporting rostering systems (e.g. RosterOn or similar)
  • A sound understanding of payroll processes, awards and enterprise agreements
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy
  • Clear communication skills and a customer‑focused approach
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting/data analysis tools
  • A willingness to learn and contribute to system enhancements

Desirable:

  • Qualifications or training in payroll, HR systems, or information system
