Perioperative Registered Nurse- Scrub/Scout Nurse

- Rotating roster including weekends, overnight and on-call shifts
Within The Royal Melbourne Hospital our Surgery, Perioperative, Trauma and Surgical Oncology Services team operate busy theatres that provide a high quality 24/7 service in our 16 operating rooms. Perioperative Services incorporate 4 main locations, Main Theatre, CSSD, 3 East/23 hour and 3 West Day Procedure. The Main Operating Suite has 16 theatres with a further 3 in 3 West. The Operating Suites are staffed with skilled nurses (both scrub-Scout and Anaesthetic/Recovery) which is supported with the Post Graduate Perioperative Program.
Your New Role:
This position offers an excellent career opportunity for a registered nurse with perioperative experience who has a strong commitment to the delivery of high quality patient care and education. Working within our supportive team, this position will allow successful candidate to further develop his/her skills and to contribute to the ongoing advancement of our growing and dynamic service.
About you:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing And Midwifery Board of Australia
- Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary health care team
- Commitment to high quality patient care - Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of reliability and professional conduct
- Preference of a minimum of 2 years experience scrubbing within ENT/HNOE, Vascular, and Cardiothoracic surgeries
- Requires a post graduate certificate in perioperative nursing
