Registered Nurse – Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM)
The Royal Melbourne Hospital - Royal Park Campus – Ward Aged Care 1

 

  • Seeking a Registered Nurse with at least 1 years’ experience for ongoing position

About the service:

Our Home First Ambulatory and Complex Care service is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Geriatric Evaluation and Management subacute care team on ward Aged Care 1, which is a 20-bed ward.  We deliver physical and cognitive rehabilitation care for patients with chronic or complex conditions that are associated with ageing, cognitive dysfunction, or disability. We have a diverse patient cohort providing services to adults over the age of 65.

Our team are dedicated to support the next stage in the patient journey to full recovery after an injury, illness or surgery. We ensure that our patients gain the most independence and functionality that is possible with the support of our skilled multidisciplinary team.

We are passionate about supporting our team to deliver the best care and support their growth and development via education opportunities, team nursing models and preceptorship.

This position offers an excellent career opportunity for a registered nurse who has completed their Graduate Nurse Program and has a strong commitment to delivering high quality patient care. Working within a supportive team, this position will allow the successful candidate to develop their skills in Geriatric medicine including Dementia/Delirium management, functional rehabilitation, wound care, and patient clinical assessment.


About you:

  • Registered Nurses that are eligible to apply must have a minimum of 1 years acute or subacute experience
  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated commitment to high-quality patient care
  • Excellent effective communication skills, and are passionate about professional development
  • Demonstrates confidence in Speaking up for Safety, and aligns with the Melbourne Way values of leading with kindness, people first, and excellence together
