Psychological Health & Wellbeing Consultant

The Royal Melbourne Hospital

  • Support the implementation of RMH’s Psychosocial Safety Strategy
  • Partner with leaders to strengthen workplace psychological health and wellbeing
  • Ongoing role based at RMH Elizabeth Street within People, Culture & Communications

About the role

  • Support the implementation of RMH’s Psychosocial Safety Strategy and compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (Psychological Health) Regulations
  • Partner across the organisation to identify, assess and respond to psychosocial hazards and staff wellbeing concerns
  • Provide expert advice on psychosocial risk management and workplace psychological safety
  • Analyse wellbeing and risk data to identify trends and inform organisational improvement initiatives

Key responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to managers and staff on identifying psychosocial hazards, risk assessment and control strategies
  • Deliver triage and advice for staff seeking support relating to psychosocial safety concerns
  • Analyse data and trends relating to wellbeing concerns and psychosocial risks to inform organisational improvements
  • Contribute to reporting, governance processes and compliance with WorkSafe requirements
  • Support education, communication and initiatives that promote psychological safety across the organisation

About you

Qualifications

  • Registration or eligibility for registration in a relevant discipline such as Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Nursing

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience identifying psychosocial hazards and implementing effective risk controls
  • Strong knowledge of psychological safety, trauma-informed practice and workplace wellbeing approaches
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work collaboratively across a large, complex organisation

Desirable

  • Experience supporting organisational psychosocial safety or workplace mental health initiatives
  • Experience analysing wellbeing or safety data to inform organisational improvement
