About the Role
Pharmacy at Melbourne Health plays a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of medications across our 600-bed hospital service. We are looking for motivated individuals who are excited to learn and develop their skills in hospital pharmacy.
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be part of a collaborative and innovative pharmacy team supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality medicines management across our City and Royal Park campuses.
We have expanded and evolved our pharmacy services into exciting areas for our rotating technician workforce over our city and Royal Park campuses including:
Procurement
Work with the Pharmacy Procurement Manager to manage the supply chain of the hospital’s medicines.
Technician-led ward inventory services
Work alongside clinical pharmacists to provide medicine supply services to clinical areas and medicine rooms.
Technician managed medication automation
Work with market-leading technological automated medicine supply systems.
Working closely with pharmacists and multidisciplinary teams, you will play an important role in ensuring timely access to medications for patients and clinical areas. With comprehensive training and ongoing development opportunities, this position provides an excellent pathway to build your skills and experience in modern hospital pharmacy practice.
Key Accountabilities
- Work in partnership with the Pharmacy Procurement and Inventory Team (Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists) to provide high-quality medicine inventory services.
- Train and develop new skills and technologies as we expand our services and equipment into new and exciting roles
- Participate in meetings and committees
About You
- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Well-developed oral & written communication skills
- Current working rights in Australia or Citizens/Permanent Residents
Desirable
- Previous experience in community or hospital pharmacy
