About the Role

 

Pharmacy at The Royal Melbourne Hospital plays a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of medications across our 600-bed health service. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team to support the provision of high-quality pharmaceutical care and medicines management for our patients.

 

We provide high level pharmacy services to many exciting areas over our Parkville and Royal Park campuses including technician led:

 

  • Inpatient services
  • Outpatient services
  • Aseptic and Sterile manufacturing services
  • Inventory management
  • Digital health
  • Advanced roles including technician checking and medicines access programs

 

We are also continuously developing new roles into exciting areas such as:

  • Ambulatory care
  • State-wide medication services

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Work in partnership with the Pharmacy Inpatient & Ambulatory Services team (Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists) to provide high-quality, patient-centred pharmacy services
  • Train and develop new skills as we expand into new and exciting roles
  • Participate in day-to-day pharmacy technician duties across inpatients, outpatients, sterile/aseptic manufacturing, inventory, and clinical wards
  • Maintain a customer focus for all services within the scope of the position
  • Contribute to on-call, after-hours, public holiday, and weekend services
  • Participate in meetings and committees

 

About You

 

  • Certificate IV in Health (or equivalent) / Overseas trained pharmacist
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Well-developed oral & written communication skills

Desirable

  • Previous experience in community or hospital pharmacy
