Clinical Business Manager – Perioperative Services

The Royal Melbourne Hospital

 

  • Full Time Fixed term – 12 months
  • 80 hours incl ADO hours per fortnight
  • Parkville location, close to public transport

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking an experienced and collaborative Clinical Business Manager – Perioperative Services to support the operational and financial performance of one of Victoria’s leading surgical services.

This is a key leadership role within the Perioperative team, responsible for overseeing procurement, supply chain management and business operations that support the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality patient care.

Working closely with the Perioperative Services Manager, you will drive improvements in procurement strategy, financial performance, and operational efficiency while building strong partnerships with clinical teams, suppliers and key internal stakeholders.

Your new role:

  • Lead procurement and supply chain operations for Perioperative Services, ensuring compliance with Health Purchasing Victoria contracts and procurement legislation
  • Monitor and manage departmental financial performance including cost centre reporting, expenditure and revenue optimisation
  • Develop and enhance reporting and data analysis to identify procurement efficiencies and operational improvements
  • Build strong relationships with clinical teams, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery
  • Support business planning, KPI development and performance monitoring to improve service efficiency and resource utilisation

About you:

You are an experienced business or procurement professional who thrives in complex healthcare environments and enjoys partnering with clinical teams to deliver practical operational solutions.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in business, procurement or operational management within a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Strong analytical and financial management skills with the ability to interpret performance and cost data
  • Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills in multidisciplinary environments
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering consumer-focused services

Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, procurement or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
