The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Victoria's leading public health services, renowned for excellence, innovation and compassionate care. We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Training & Development Specialist to join our Payroll Services team within Melbourne Health Financial Shared Services.
This is a newly established specialist role responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive training and capability development framework for the Payroll Services team. Operating within a shared services function that processes payroll for over 30,000 employees across 26 complex Enterprise Agreements, you will ensure payroll staff are equipped with the knowledge, skills and tools to deliver accurate, compliant and efficient payroll services. You will work closely with the compliance and process improvement team, People & Culture, and external stakeholders to embed regulatory changes, support audit readiness and foster a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
About you
- Demonstrated experience in payroll operations and training development with a strong understanding of payroll legislation, compliance requirements and enterprise systems
- Proven ability to design and deliver engaging training programs including onboarding, e-learning, workshops and coaching
- Experience with learning management systems and digital training tools
- Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to The Melbourne Way – people first, leading with kindness, excellence together
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Education, Business or a related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in payroll or a related field, with at least 2 years in a training or leadership role
