Payroll Systems & Process Improvement Specialist

- The Payroll Systems & Process Improvement Specialist will play a pivotal role in strengthening payroll services across the Royal Melbourne Hospital and other supported Health Services.
About the role
This position is responsible for the scoping, design, build, testing, and implementation of key payroll projects, with a strong focus on SAP ECC Payroll and rostering integration (e.g., RosterOn). You will lead initiatives to reduce manual processes and support the digitisation and automation of payroll operations.
Key responsibilities
- Delivering payroll system projects, from requirements gathering through to testing and go-live.
- Providing technical expertise in Payroll and Rostering configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Ensuring accuracy and reliability of rostering system interfaces to payroll.
- Driving process improvement initiatives to enhance compliance, efficiency, and employee experience.
- Supporting major transformation initiatives including Pathology Network West (PNW), precinct integration opportunities, and the Optima project.
- Partnering with Payroll Operations, HR, Finance, and IT to deliver fit-for-purpose system solutions.
About You
- Experience working with Payroll and Rostering Systems a complex, high-volume environment.
- Familiarity with rostering and time & attendance systems such as RosterOn.
- Strong skills in payroll system testing, defect resolution, and process design.
- Proven ability to lead process improvement and change initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A collaborative, detail-focused, and compliance-minded approach.
