Operations Manager - General Medicine & Addiction Medicine

  • Full Time Ongoing position – 80 hours with monthly Accured Day Off

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Operations Manager to join our General Medicine & Addiction Medicine team at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

This senior leadership role is integral to the strategic direction, coordination, and operational excellence of one of Victoria’s largest and most dynamic General Medicine services.

Your New Role 

  • Lead the operational performance and strategic direction of the General Medicine & Addiction Medicine programs at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
  • Partner closely with clinical directors, nurse leaders and multidisciplinary teams to ensure delivery of safe, high-quality and efficient care across inpatient and consultative services.
  • Drive key initiatives in service improvement, clinical governance, digital transformation and workforce development.
  • Foster strong partnerships with academic, research and health network collaborators to enhance service integration and innovation. 
  • Provide strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, financial management and operational leadership to strengthen service performance, sustainability and the overall patient experience. 
  • Contribute to the ongoing growth and reputation of one of Victoria’s largest and most dynamic General Medicine services. 

About You: 

  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a complex healthcare environment 
  • Strong operational and financial management capability 
  • Proven ability to engage and collaborate with senior clinicians, executives and multidisciplinary teams 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on building positive, accountable cultures 
  • Relevant nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia 
  • Postgraduate qualification in health or business management (desirable)
