Join our two-year Allied Health Graduate Program as an Occupational Therapist and develop your clinical skills through a supported introduction to mental health occupational therapy.

You will:

• Work with consumers and families impacted by mental illness using a strengths-based, recovery-focused approach.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and alongside a large community of mental health occupational therapists.
• Participate in comprehensive orientation, monthly education days, regular clinical supervision and facilitated peer support.
• Develop your clinical confidence and capability through a structured and graded graduate experience.
• Be supported to prioritise self-care and wellbeing throughout the program.
• Have the opportunity to progress your career, including support to apply for a Grade 3 role following successful completion of the 24-month program.

You’ll join one of Victoria’s longest-running Allied Health Graduate Programs, with a 20-year history of supporting and retaining Graduate Occupational Therapists, our program includes:

• Build your mental health career through a structured two-year Allied Health Graduate Program.
• Gain diverse clinical experience across community, inpatient or residential mental health settings.
• Develop your skills through targeted professional development and discipline-specific supervision.
• Learn alongside your peers through monthly facilitated Occupational Therapy and Social Work sessions.
• Broaden your experience with the opportunity to rotate to a different clinical setting in your second year.
• Work in multidisciplinary teams while building the interprofessional skills expected of allied health graduates across Victoria.

About You

You are an Occupational Therapist who brings a genuine interest in developing a career in public mental health and a commitment to learning and professional development.

You will bring:

• A commitment to partnering with consumers, carers and supporters in their recovery journey.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with a range of stakeholders.
• A willingness to use critical reflection in supervision to support your development.
• AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist, or be eligible for registration upon qualification.
• A recognised Occupational Therapy qualification, or be expecting to complete your qualification before January 2027.
• Less than two years' experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist.
• A full driver's licence.

This is a full-time position commencing no later than 27 January 2027. New graduates and occupational therapists with less than two years' experience are encouraged to apply.

The position is classified Occupational Therapy Grade 2 Year 2–Year 5, with pay increment based on qualification and length of experience as a qualified occupational therapist.
