The Dementia Centre Nurse Coordinator will oversee the establishment of RMH’s newly launched Dementia Centre of Excellence. This will include coordinating the Centre’s infrastructure setup, overseeing equipment procurement and inventory management, and preparing the designated space for future infusion-based therapies.
The Nurse Lead will support the centre commencing non-infusion based clinical trials for people with dementia, with a role in screening, recruitment, study assessments, research ethics and governance. The role will work closely with the Clinical leads, trial investigators and clinical fellows to achieve this.
The role will collaborate with the Project Manager Dementia Centre of Excellence and the governance group to plan for an ongoing model of care for the Centre.
Experience in the establishment of new clinical services and in clinical research is highly desirable. The role also requires strong administrative, organisational and inter-personal skills to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders and collaborators.

About the Role:
- Lead the setup of RMH’s Dementia Centre of Excellence, including infrastructure, equipment, and preparation for infusion-based therapies.
- Support non-infusion clinical trials by managing screening, recruitment, assessments, and research governance.
- Collaborate with clinical leads and governance teams to plan a sustainable model of care for the Centre.
- Requires experience in clinical service setup and research, plus strong administrative and interpersonal skills.
About You:
- Registered Nurse, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Commitment to live the Melbourne Way - putting people first, leading with kindness and achieving excellence together.
- Clinical experience in the area of infusion-based therapies, including administration, monitoring and patient safety.
- Highly developed administrative, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent time-management and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Advanced assessment skills and the demonstrated ability to collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent communication verbal and presentation
- Proficient in Microsoft programs: word, excel, access, email, outlook.
- Experience in review and development of policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be innovative, resourceful and adapt to change.
