About the Role

Join the Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Service Autism Consultation & Evaluation Service (MH-ACES). This specialist service supports adults who are autistic or require autism assessment, delivering person-centred, recovery-oriented and neurodiversity-affirming care.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to autism assessments, provide occupational therapy recommendations and sensory assessments, facilitate wellbeing and social groups, support consumers and carers, and build capability across mental health services.

Key Accountabilities

In this role, you will:

  • Provide occupational therapy assessments, including sensory assessments and support recommendations.
  • Contribute to autism assessment, diagnostic and treatment planning processes.
  • Develop and facilitate group programs that promote wellbeing, connection and positive autistic identity.
  • Provide consultation and education to clinicians across RMH Mental Health Services.

About You

  • Minimum one year post-graduate experience.
  • Interest in working with autistic consumers and neurodiversity-affirming practice.
  • Strong communication, assessment and report-writing skills.
  • Commitment to recovery-oriented, evidence-based and person-centred care.

Desirable

  • Experience in adult mental health settings.
  • Experience conducting sensory assessments and facilitating group programs.
  • Postgraduate training in mental health or a related discipline.
