Mechanical Fitter - The Royal Melbourne Hospital
- Full Time Ongoing position
- Generous 5 weeks Annual Leave per year plus monthly RDO

About the Role
The Mechanical Fitter maintains and operates critical hospital plant and equipment across sites, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation of systems including boilers, chillers, pumps, steam and associated controls. The role undertakes day-to-day repairs, supports preventative maintenance programs, monitors performance via the Building Automation System, and participates in on-call and rostered duties. You’ll join a dynamic team with opportunities to develop your skills and contribute to continuous improvement.
About you
This exciting position will require a trade qualification of a Mechanical Trade Certificate.
- Experience maintaining hot water systems, steam condensate systems, traps, valves, returns, and associated control devices
- Understanding of safe work practices and safe access/permit systems
- Knowledge of high/low pressure steam piping systems, steam generation & vacuum systems, circulating pump installation & maintenance, and steam valves
- Willingness to work across multiple trade disciplines
- Experience with automated building management system
- Current driver's license valid for Australia.
