Casual Interpreter Booking Clerk

The Interpreter Service sits within the Allied Health Department and is committed to providing responsive language services that include interpreter and translation services. We have an in-house team of 21 interpreters. The team provides appropriately credentialed interpreter services for patients, families and staff to facilitate safe communication throughout a patient’s journey at The Royal Melbourne Hospital (City and Royal Park Campuses).
Your new role:
- Support staff and consumers by receiving and processing interpreter requests in a timely manner.
- Assist the in-house and agency interpreters by coordinating & negotiating interpreter appointments, providing interpreters with directions, and facilitate departmental communications.
About you:
- You have experience working in a health setting with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across an organisation.
- You are looking to utilise your strong administrative skills in combination with your knowledge of the Interpreting and Translating profession to maintain a quality and responsive service.
- You have excellent communication skills and a passion for continued professional development.
- You are solutions focused with an ability to meet deadlines, work independently and within a team.
