About the Role

 

As a Health Information Services Clerk, you will play an important role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity and accessibility of patient health information across Melbourne Health.

 

Working across both City and Royal Park campuses, you will support the management of electronic and paper medical records through document preparation, scanning, indexing, quality assurance and information release processes. You will utilise a range of health information systems, including iPM, ECM and Epic, while providing responsive customer service to internal and external stakeholders. This role contributes to the delivery of high-quality health information services by ensuring patient records are complete, accurate, secure and available when needed to support patient care and organisational requirements

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Operate and maintain computerised health information systems such as the Patient Administration System (iPM), Enterprise Content Management (ECM), and Electronic Medical Record (EMR/Epic) systems.
  • Collect, prepare, scan, and quality-check medical record documents.
  • Liaise with internal and external departments to maintain the integrity of medical records.
  • Handle patient information requests, monitor documentation deficiencies, and support MRN merging processes.
  • Follow HIS procedures and participate in safety and quality programs.
