HR Advisor – Employment Contracting & Compliance (People Services Advisor)

We're looking for an experienced HR advisor with a background in employment contracting and EBA compliance.
In this role, you'll look after contracting for a dedicated portfolio at one of Australia's leading public hospitals.
You'll be a trusted source of advice for managers and employees, interpreting enterprise agreements, guiding classification decisions and helping resolve the more complex matters that come your way. This role would suit someone who enjoys the advisory and interpretive side of HR operations.
Key Accountabilities
- Own employment contracting end to end.
- Interpret and apply EBAs, the Fair Work Act and classification structures to set correct grades, pay points and entitlements.
- Be the escalation point for complex contracting matters and compliance risks and advise managers and employees with confidence at all levels.
- Investigate and fix contract and pay errors, tracing problems back to their root cause.
- Provide hands-on SuccessFactors advice and training, guiding managers and team members through contracting workflows while keeping data accurate and approvals on time.
- Mentor and coach colleagues to build their capability, quality-assure contracting work and lead continuous improvement across processes and controls.
About You
- Demonstrated experience as an HR Advisor or HR Operations/Contracts specialist, preparing and advising on employment contracts and variations.
- Hands-on interpretation of enterprise agreements or awards, including classification and pay-point decisions.
- Working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and National Employment Standards.
- Experience resolving pay, data and compliance issues
- Experience using an HRIS for contracting workflows (SuccessFactors or SAP highly regarded).
- The judgement and communication skills to give clear, defensible advice to managers and staff.
Highly regarded
- Experience in healthcare, the Victorian public sector or another multi-EBA environment.
- Experience mentoring or quality assuring the work of others.
You will bring experience in providing advice and guidance to hiring managers and employees on complex people matters, beyond day-to-day recruitment coordination, onboarding administration or general HR support.
