Grade 2 Social Worker - Medical and Surgical Streams

About the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH):

The Social Work team at Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) provide high-quality, client-centred care through strong clinical skills, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork, including comprehensive psychosocial assessment and targeted intervention planning.

Your new role:

  • Provide specialised social work services such as risk assessment, discharge planning, care coordination, advocacy, counselling, and family/group work.
  • Contribute to service delivery across different clinical areas, supporting quality improvement, teaching, research, and policy or program development.
  • Support workforce development by supervising junior staff, students, and allied health assistants, and contributing to department and profession growth (including cross-campus and weekend services).

About you:

  • You have acute hospital experience with a collaborative working style
  • You have a minimum of 3 years relevant clinical experience with exemplary communication skills
  • You are a natural leader and team player who is committed to team objectives
