About the role
The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is one of Victoria’s largest and most diverse public health services, providing care across the full spectrum of acute, sub-acute, and community settings. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Grade 1 Social Worker to join our experienced and collaborative team. This role offers strong opportunities for professional growth, supervision, and development across a range of varied clinical settings. Key Accountabilities
- Provide patient-centred social work services, including assessment, intervention, discharge planning and accurate documentation
- Work effectively with patients, carers, families and a Multidisciplinary team
- Collaborate with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcome
- Promote a safe, respectful and inclusive environment aligned with the values of The Melbourne Way.
About You
- Looking to expand Social Work skills and work within a professional team
- At least 6 months’ experience as a Social Worker in a hospital setting
- Qualification eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Clinical skills and experience in comprehensive assessment, counselling and discharge planning
- Understanding of Social Work theories and their application to clinical practice
