About the role
The Genomic Clinic Administrator provides high-quality administrative support to the multidisciplinary Genomic Medicine and Parkville Familial Cancer Centre teams, helping ensure patients and their families receive a coordinated, efficient and positive clinic experience.
Working across Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, you will support daily specialist outpatient genetic clinics through appointment scheduling, referral management, clinic reception, correspondence and Medicare administration. Your attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively will help keep clinic operations running smoothly and support the clinical team to deliver patient-centred care.
Key Accountabilities
- Support patients, families and clinicians through professional reception and telephone services.
- Coordinate genetic clinic appointments, referrals and EPIC work queues.
- Manage patient letters, correspondence, reminders and discharge processes.
- Complete MBS administration, including eligibility, referrals, billing and consent.
- Maintain accurate patient and family history records, data and documentation.
- Work collaboratively across RMH and Peter Mac to support smooth clinic operations and a positive patient experience.
About You
- Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
- Year 12 or equivalent and a Certificate in Medical Terminology.
- Experience working in a hospital outpatient clinic or medical practice.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Patient-focused approach with a commitment to positive experiences
- Ability to prioritise, use initiative and work effectively in a busy environment
- Flexible, reliable and receptive to direction and learning
