Registered Nurse - Genomic Medicine & Parkville Familial Cancer Centre
The Royal Melbourne Hospital 

 

  • Part Time Fixed Term Position – parental leave cover
  • 48 hours per fortnight
  • Friendly and supportive team environment

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse (Grade 2) to join our Department of Genomic Medicine and Parkville Familial Cancer Centre (PFCC). This is a unique opportunity to work within a specialised service that provides diagnosis, counselling, and support to adults with genetic disorders and their families.

About the Role

  • Support adults and families known or suspected to have genetic or genomic health conditions
  • Assist in case management and the coordination of complex patient care
  • Contribute to the operation of a variety of adult genetic clinics, including intake and preparation for appointments
  • Collect and maintain clinical data, medical histories and research information
  • Participate in clinical and translational research projects led by the department
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of patient-centred care

About You

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to provide safe, effective and evidence-based care
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Interest in genetics/genomic health and a commitment to professional growth
