Gastroenterology Research Nurse

- An integral team member within the Department of Gastroenterology investigator-related and industry-related research programs
- Work closely on IBD, Hepatology and Coeliac research projects

About the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH):
RMH part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.
About the role:
The research nurse will be required to work closely with all key contacts within the Department of Gastroenterology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Key tasks will include recruitment of clinical trial participants and conducting study visits, data entry, sample processing and visit tracking/follow up.
In this role, you will:
- Demonstrated provision of high-quality patient care
- Performing venepuncture, ECG and trial specific requirements.
- Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills
- High motivation and willingness to learn
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Qualifications
- Registered Nurses:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Essential
- Performing venepuncture, ECG and trial specific requirements.
- Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills
- High motivation and willingness to learn
Desirable
- Minimum 1 year research experience
- Experience of both investigator lead and commercial led studies.
- Good working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines
- Clinical knowledge in gastroenterology and hepatology
