Food Services Assistant (Part Time 40Hrs Fortnight)

  • Based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Parkville Campus
  • Food Service Assistant Part Time

The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.


Your Opportunity:

Food Services interact with staff, patients, relatives and colleagues and their actions and behaviours are guided by patient centred care, unity, and respect.

Duties include:

  • Prepare and deliver meals to patients
  • Ensure a clean kitchen environment is maintained
  • Liaise with team leaders and ward staff
  • Use of chemicals
  • Deliver and return of all trolleys, food items and utensils from kitchen, wards and other areas
  • Stripping of all meal trays and separation of components ready for washing
  • Operation of dishwashing

About You:

  • Basic Food Handling Certificate
  • Follow the departments food safety plan for complaince for audit ready.
  • Excellent work ethic, customer service skills, time management skills and the ability to successfully work in a team environment
  • Ability to safely use catering  equipment.Follow equipment operating procedures in use and knowledge of dismantle for cleaning.
  • Participate in a roster and work in an allocated area and other areas as requested
