Food & Domestic Services Assistant

The Royal Melbourne Hospital

 

  • Part Time Position, 32 hours per fortnight.
  • Afternoon shift 4.00pm – 8.00pm. Weekend work required.
  • Based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital Royal Park Campus.

 

Your Opportunity:

Food Services interact with staff, patients, relatives and colleagues and their actions and behaviours are guided by patient centred care. Duties include:

  • Prepare and deliver meals to patients.
  • Ensure a clean kitchen environment is maintained.
  • Liaise with team leaders and ward staff.
  • Use of chemicals.
  • Delivery and return of all trolleys, food items and utensils from kitchen, wards and other areas.
  • Stripping of all meal trays and separation of components ready for washing.
  • Operation of dishwashing.

 

About You:

  • Basic Food Handling Certificate.
  • Excellent work ethic, customer service skills, time management skills and the ability to successfully work in a team environment.
  • Ability to safely use cleaning supplies & equipment.
  • Participate in a roster and work in an allocated area and other areas as requested.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
