About The Royal Melbourne Hospital
The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.
9 West is a 24 bed ward based at the RMH City Campus that comprises of the units of Acute Care Elderly (ACE) and OrthoMedical. Both of these units care for patients over 65 years of age.
The ACE patients are admitted with Acute medical issues that have achievable therapy goals to facilitate a discharge within approx. 7 days. Common ACE conditions are orthopaedic, neurological and general acute medical issues.

About the Role:
- Care for Orthopaedic/Medical patients, primarily with fractured neck of femur (NOF) requiring surgery and short-term therapy goals for discharge within approximately 7 days.
- Provide nursing care in a diverse, challenging, and rewarding acute ward environment, utilising advanced clinical skills.
- Support an active intensive therapy model to aid functional recovery of older patients during the acute phase and enable safe, early discharge.
- Work collaboratively within a highly effective team to meet discharge timelines and optimise patient outcomes.
- Follow a Patient-Centred "Model of Care," partnering with Medical and Allied Health teams to deliver best practice care for patients and their families.
About You:
- Current AHPRA registration required
- Dynamic and self-motivated Endorsed Enrolled Nurse (EEN) with a strong commitment to high-quality clinical and customer-focused care.
- Ability to work a flexible rotating roster, including weekends.
- Willingness to undertake rotations onto Night Shift.
