Clinical Nurse Consultant - Regional Dialysis

About the role

Make a meaningful difference to patients receiving dialysis across regional Victoria and southern New South Wales.

As the Regional Dialysis Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC), you will coordinate and support the transition of care for patients between regional dialysis centres affiliated with the Royal Melbourne Hospital Kidney Care Service. Working across organisational and geographical boundaries, you’ll build strong partnerships with regional health services and RMH teams to support safe, seamless and person-centred care.

This is an influential clinical leadership role where your advanced dialysis expertise, communication and negotiation skills will help shape positive outcomes for patients, families and healthcare teams. You’ll also act as a trusted clinical resource, providing guidance and support to regional services and RMH staff.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide expert clinical guidance in haemodialysis and renal nursing across regional services.
• Coordinate safe, seamless transitions of care between regional and metropolitan health services.
• Build strong partnerships with RMH, regional health services and multidisciplinary teams.
• Deliver education and professional development to regional dialysis staff.
• Support the development and improvement of regional dialysis services and evidence-based practice.
• Contribute to quality improvement, research, benchmarking and service development initiatives.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced renal nurse who brings strong clinical expertise, sound judgement and a collaborative approach to supporting patients and regional dialysis teams.

• Registered Nurse with 5+ years’ haemodialysis experience and extensive renal clinical expertise.
• Advanced assessment, critical thinking, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to improving access, equity and quality of dialysis care for regional communities.
