EPIC EMR Analyst – Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management

  • Full Time Fixed Term (12 months) position based at RMH Parkville

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Victoria's leading public health services, renowned for excellence, innovation and compassionate care. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Epic EMR Analyst to join the Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine.

This is a hands-on technical and analytical role focused on Epic configuration, reporting and workflow optimisation within perioperative care. You will provide dedicated clinical informatics and analytics expertise, designing, building and maintaining Epic reporting infrastructure — including dashboards and data capture tools — to support continuous quality improvement, operational efficiency and research capability. Working closely with clinicians, the EMR program team and organisational stakeholders, you will translate clinical requirements into sustainable technical solutions that directly support improved patient care and perioperative outcomes.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis, reporting or clinical informatics within a healthcare environment
  • Strong understanding of electronic medical record systems and clinical workflows
  • Proven ability to translate stakeholder requirements into practical technical solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines
  • Ability to present data insights clearly to both clinical and operational audiences
  • Commitment to The Melbourne Way – people first, leading with kindness, excellence together

Desirable

  • Epic certification or accreditation, or willingness to obtain
  • Experience with Epic reporting tools including Reporting Workbench, Clarity or Caboodle
  • Experience in perioperative or acute care environments
  • Clinical background or experience working closely with clinicians
  • Tertiary qualification in health, information technology, data science or clinical informatics
