Job Description: 

Grade 2 Casual Weekend Physiotherapists – Acute Neurology

 

  • Position based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital city campus Parkville 
  • Shift length 8 hours on Saturday and/or Sunday 
  • Acute inpatient neurosciences
  • Join a supportive & dynamic team environment 


You will be provided opportunities to gain experience working in a well-supported multidisciplinary team environment with a complex and wide variety of patient presentations on our acute neurosurgery, stroke and neurology inpatient wards.

This position will contribute to our weekend staffing model which is well supported by Grade 3 Physiotherapists.

Your new role:  

    • Bring your excellent clinical skills to provide high quality patient assessment to competently and independently assess, treat and manage a broad range of neurological patients in the inpatient setting (stroke, neurology, neurosurgery). 
    • Contribute to the operational needs of the department across a 7-day service model. 
    • Work across a variety of wards/caseloads.
    • Prioritise clinical load based on daily demand. 

 

About you: 

    • Excellent physiotherapy assessment and treatment skills and the ability to manage a variety of complex neurological patients across the spectrum of patient management.
    • You have the ability to effectively prioritise and manage patient assessment, treatment and management in the acute neurological setting.
    • Well-developed communication, time management and organisational skills.
    • Experience working in a hospital healthcare setting.
    • You are able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
