Cardiac Sonographer - Grade 3 (Echo) Diagnostic Cardiology
12 months fixed term commencing September 2025
The Royal Melbourne Hospital - City Campus, Parkville
- Part time - 64 hours per fortnight
- 5 weeks leave per year (pro rata) + public holidays

The Diagnostic Cardiology Department at the Royal Melbourne Hospital is a busy unit supporting the 3 Cardiac Cath Labs. The Royal Melbourne Hospital is part of the Parkville precinct and is co-located with the Royal Women's Hospital and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. The Parkville precinct uses an electronic medical record (EMR) across all hospitals.
Specialty Cardiology services include Adult Congenital Heart Disease, complex cardiac electrophysiology, structural cardiac intervention, cardiac genetics, and cardiac implanted electronic device management including lead extraction.

Your new role:
- The Royal Melbourne Hospital is hiring a motivated Cardiac Sonographer to perform echocardiograms for inpatients and outpatients.
- The role includes participation in an after-hours on-call roster on a rotating basis.
- Offers opportunities to gain experience with a variety of cardiac pathologies, including adult congenital heart disease.
- Supportive team environment with on-site echo educators to facilitate ongoing learning and career development.
About you:
- Undergraduate science degree
- Previous experience in Cardiology
- You have effective communication skills and a passion for continued professional development
- You want to build your expertise in Cardiology and are keen to learn
- Current accreditation with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
