Business Activity Coordinator - Nephrology
The Royal Melbourne Hospital

 

  • An exciting opportunity to work in either a Full time or Part time Ongoing capacity, as part of one of the largest Nephrology services in Australia 
  • Work in close partnership with the Director of Nephrology, Operations Manager and Medical Services Executive coordinating key financial, contract management and business activities across the Nephrology service. 
  • Located in Parkville precinct

RMH Nephrology encompasses the interrelated departments of RMH Kidney Care, including Nephrology, Transplantation and Dialysis and is strongly linked with Nephrology Surgery. RMH Kidney Care provides a comprehensive clinical and state-wide referral service for patients with kidney disease and kidney failure, with outpatient clinics, outreach clinics and in-patient services based at Parkville. Treatment options include kidney transplantation, home haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, satellite dialysis and supportive care.

Your new role:

  • Assume overarching responsibility for budget tracking, trends and monthly reporting of service actuals to budget
  • Take a service lead role for the development and management of all procurement processes and contracts executed within and on behalf of the service.
  • Work with Procurement to identify opportunities for improved service and organisational efficiencies in negotiations, purchasing and resource management  
  • Identify key resources required to promote high standards, quality and safety of care and to ensure adequate equipment is accessible to all sites to deliver optimal patient and service outcomes
  • Prepare business cases and financial modelling as required.
  • Prepare annual operational, research and SPF budgets in consultation with Nephrology leadership team and Finance Business Partner

About you:

  • Formal qualification in health or business, or working towards the same
  • A broad understanding of the Victorian Health System 
  • Sound understanding of business principles, continuous improvement and key organisational performance indicators
  • Well-developed financial and accounting skills
  • Demonstrated success in working with a leadership team to drive a culture that values teamwork, accountability and people development
  • Desirable to have considerable knowledge of kidney failure treatments pathways, processes and operations
  • Experience in tenders, contract management and capital projects.
