- Full time, ongoing position | $77,000 to $83,000 per year (YA45-YA46) plus superannuation
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver outreach and linkage.
- Support consumers to identify needs and connect with local recovery services.
Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Services delivers person-centred, recovery-oriented care through a skilled multidisciplinary team, including Lived and Living Experience experts. We provide high-quality, trauma-informed, and evidence-based mental health support to adults and older adults, with a focus on holistic recovery that includes families and carers.
The HOPE program supports individuals for up to 12 weeks after discharge from RMH following a suicide attempt or serious suicidal ideation. It provides assertive, coordinated care through outreach and clinic-based interventions to reduce the risk of suicide re-attempts.
We are looking for an experiences LGBTIQA+ Psychosocial Support Worker to join our HOPE program top provide recovery-focused psychosocial support after a mental health distress.

About the role:
• Complete training and actively promote understanding of psychosocial recovery
• Collaborate with psychosocial roles and multidisciplinary team members
• Support consumers from intake to discharge with recovery-focused care planning
• Advocate for consumer preferences in all aspects of care and support delivery
• Identify and connect consumers with appropriate community support services
• Communicate effectively with consumers, families, carers, and support networks
About You:
Formal Qualifications
• Relevant qualifications or experience in Alcohol and Other Drugs, family work, mental health, CALD communities, allied health, or human services.
Essential
• Commitment to the Melbourne Way – people first, kindness, and excellence
• Knowledge of local resources and ability to deliver culturally safe support
• Strong collaboration with treating teams, families, and support networks
• Excellent organisation, time management, and crisis response skills
• Current Victorian Driver’s Licence and ongoing ability to travel
Desirable
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants strongly encouraged
• Experience working with ACCHO and Aboriginal communities
• Background in mental health or related sectors
