The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.
RMH is seeking a Community Mental Health Key Clinician to join the Inner West Area Mental Health Service’s multidisciplinary team at the Waratah Clinic. This role involves delivering evidence-based, person-centred care to adults with complex mental health needs, supporting their recovery through assessment, treatment, and ongoing intervention. The clinician will collaborate with consumers and families, contribute to team care and reviews, and supervise students.

About the role:
- Delivery of evidenced based treatment and interventions that support consumers with complex mental health related needs and their families/carers
- Support the team and the program manager to drive high standards of service provision
- Drive self-development; contribute expertise in clinical meetings and to improve service delivery
- Participate in supervision and provide supervision to students and colleagues as required
- Provide expert opinion regarding diagnostic impressions, formal diagnostic assessments, feedback on process considerations and treatment planning considerations/advice
- Apply sound treatment skills for people with severe and enduring mental health conditions and have willingness and capacity to commit to development of evidence-based knowledge and practice
About you
Formal Qualifications
- This is a multidisciplinary role open to registered psychiatric nurses (must hold relevant degree, registration and/or membership as per attached Position Description)
Essential
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of severe mental illness and psychiatric disability
- Apply specialised skills in practice domains aligned with RMH MHS, including interventions for low-prevalence disorders
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team while working independently; bring strong communication, organisational, and IT skills
- Committed to professional development in mental health and hold a current Victorian Driver’s Licence
Desirable
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply
- Experience working with ACCHOs and Aboriginal communities and families
- Ability to speak a community language is valued
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialist area
