Join 7B, a specialised 32-bed Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
As ANUM, you will provide clinical leadership, support the NUM with day-to-day ward operations and lead the nursing team to deliver safe, timely, equitable and person-centred care.
7B provides complex, high-acuity care to patients with:
- Acute leukaemia
- Non-malignant haematological conditions
- Allogeneic bone marrow transplants
- Complex care needs across the VCCC Alliance
Key Accountabilities
As Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Clinical Governance; providing patients and the community Safe, Timely, Effective, Person-centred (STEP) health care
- Setting and maintaining a high standard of care; demonstrating expert knowledge and clinical skills
- Delivering and supporting patient centred care; providing high quality patient care by performing assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation for care in collaboration with the patient, their family and carer, and the multidisciplinary team
- Maintaining health and safety standards; managing risk and actively working towards implementing risk reduction strategies with bedside nursing staff and the multidisciplinary team
- Speaking up for safety; escalating concerns in a respectful manner and contributing to the solution
About You
You are an experienced Registered Nurse who brings strong clinical judgement, leadership capability and a collaborative approach to supporting a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
You will bring:
- Minimum 3 years’ acute nursing experience
- Expert assessment, clinical reasoning, problem-solving and prioritisation skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality, evidence-based patient care
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to quality improvement and staff wellbeing
- Reliability, professionalism and a strong commitment to the Melbourne Way
- Willingness and ability to act on behalf of the Nurse Unit Manager
