Administration Assistant – Respiratory and Sleep Medicine

- Full time, ongoing role – 80 hours per fortnight with monthly ADO
- Support a busy Outpatient service across two clinical locations

The Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Department is a team committed to working with all stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services to a diverse population of patients. Your new role:
In this role, you will be responsible for managing referrals, appointment scheduling, and waitlists for high-volume specialist clinics, ensuring timely and accurate coordination of patient care. You will provide front-desk reception and telephone support to patients and their families, maintain accurate administrative records and data entry, and support both face-to-face and telehealth services. Working across two clinical locations, you’ll collaborate with clinicians and fellow administrative staff to ensure smooth daily operations, uphold high standards of customer service, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
About You (Essential Requirements):
- Experience working in a fast-paced medical or outpatient administrative environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Highly developed customer service and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, and strong keyboard accuracy
- Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
- Motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn in a healthcare setting
Desirable:
- Previous experience with patient administration systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Clerical training or health administration qualifications
