About The Royal Melbourne Hospital:
The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is one of Australia’s leading public healthcare providers. Located within the world-renowned Parkville Precinct, RMH offers a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, mental health, aged care, rehabilitation, and community health services.
We are seeking a dedicated Administration Assistant to support our Community Engagement Office and Volunteer Services – both key parts of our broader Patient Experience and Community team.
Your role will be central in enabling and supporting community programs that make a real difference to patients, families, and volunteers.
About the Role:
- Providing high-level administrative support for RMH’s Volunteer Services and Community Engagement programs
- Supporting engaging projects such as volunteer recruitment and the hospital-wide consumer remuneration program
- Assisting with the delivery of consumer and volunteer events
- Acting as the first point of contact for patients, families, volunteers, and staff – ensuring excellent customer service and communication
- Managing key tasks such as inbox management, document coordination, and meeting support
About You:
Essential:
- Strong commitment to the Melbourne Way – putting people first, leading with kindness, and striving for excellence
- Proven administrative and customer service experience in a dynamic setting
- Excellent organisational, time management, and diary coordination skills
- Strong communication skills – both verbal and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
Desirable:
- Previous experience working in healthcare or a complex organisation
- Understanding of consumer and volunteer involvement in healthcare
