Neurology Fellow - Dementia and Neurodegenerative Diseases

This is a 12-month Fixed Term Part Time position at 6o hours per fortnight commencing 2nd February 2026.

Unit Description:

There is a growing burden of disease associated with Dementia in Australia.  In 2023 it was estimated that there were 421,00 Australians living with dementia that was predicted to double by 2058 (AIHW Dementia in Australia, Summary - Australian Institute of Health and Welfare). As new treatments and technologies are developed, RMH has the opportunity to fully realise the potential of its clinical experts, researchers, and the Parkville Biomedical Precinct to enhance collaborative partnerships and become a Centre of Excellence for the assessment and treatment of people with dementia. 

 

About the role:

  • Attend weekly clinics
  • Assess inpatients with cognitive and behavioural changes
  • Participate in dementia research clinical trials
  • Attend Dementia Centre and departmental research meetings

 

About You:

  • Current General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Appropriate tertiary health qualifications – MBBS or equivalent
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills.
