Unit Description:
The Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management is an integral part of The Royal Melbourne Hospital. It provides a 24-hour perioperative service encompassing:
- Pre-anaesthesia assessment
- Intraoperative anaesthesia and physiologic monitoring
- Anaesthesia for areas outside of the operating suite
- Trauma management
- Resuscitation
- Pain services
- Malignant hyperthermia testing
About the role:
The Royal Melbourne Hospital offers six Critical Care positions primarily suited to PGY3+ doctors considering a career in Anaesthesia and who would like to gain further experience before applying to one of the specialty training programs. Critical Care Hospital Medical Officer's will rotate through 6 months of Anaesthetics and three months each of Rural Emergency Medicine and ICU.

About You:
- Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) or eligible for Registration with The Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) via the Competent Authority Pathway
- MBBS or equivalent tertiary qualifications
- Ability to work in a team
- Well-developed communication and presentation skills.
