Dermatology Registrar (Unaccredited) - Research

Position A: 12 months Part Time Fixed term at 55.6 hours per fortnight, commencing 2nd February 2026, 2 positions

Position B: 12 months Part Time Fixed Term at 32 hours per fortnight, commencing 2nd February 2026, 1 position

Unit Description:

The Royal Melbourne Hospital Dermatology Department is a large tertiary department which has 16 consultants, 3 accredited registrars and 3 biologics/specialist nurses. We have highly specialised clinics for many skin conditions including Eczema, Psoriasis, Hidradenitis Suppurativa, Immunobullous conditions, Porphyria, Epidermolysis Bullosa and more. Dermatology Research is an integral part of the wider dermatology department.

 

About the role:

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Dermatology Research team. There is two Part Time, Fixed Term positions, working 3.5 days per week, and one two day per week position. These are all based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Parkville Campus. As the Dermatology Registrar (Unaccredited) - Research, you will have the opportunity to work predominantly in a research role with some clinical time. It is a role which has a strong track record for Research Fellows being accepted onto the Australasian College of Dermatologists Dermatology Training Program.

 

The Dermatology Research department at the Royal Melbourne Hospital is currently participating in over 20 different clinical trials, providing treatment options to patients with a wide variety of dermatological conditions. You will work with senior consultants, accredited registrars research nurses and administration staff. Your role will include assisting in recruitment and providing care to patients enrolled in clinical trials, including management of their skin and general health. You will have the optional opportunity to attend general dermatology (Streamlined Access) clinics and may be asked to cover for the dermatology registrars and resident when they are on leave. You will be given a personal research project to complete throughout the year.

 

About You:

  • Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (for international Medical Graduates)
  • MBBS or equivalent tertiary qualifications
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certificate
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Highly developed clinical, communication, documentation and presentation skills.
