Job Description: 

Grade 3 Senior Social Worker - Trauma

Royal Melbourne Hospital

 

  • Provide expert clinical skills, leadership and knowledge to the Trauma unit,  including crisis intervention and risk assessment relating to Family Violence, vulnerable children and vulnerable adults.
  • Career progression opportunities across the organisation, supported and developed through our supervision program.
  • This is an ongoing role at 0.8 FTE (4 days per week).

 

Your New Role:

  • Provide exemplary social work service and leadership in the Trauma Unit, including assessment, intervention, and discharge planning.
  • Foster positive team and workplace culture as a Senior Social Worker and Lead in the multidisciplinary Trauma team.
  • Utilise specialised skills and knowledge in relation to relevant hospital and community providers, communicating between patients and caregivers.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication strategies with patients, relatives, staff and relevant services in order to provide appropriate services, information and leadership.
  • Actively lead and participate in Allied Health & Trauma quality improvement initiatives and research.

 

About You:

  • You are a qualified Social Worker, eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • You have demonstrated hospital experience with a collaborative leadership style.
  • You have excellent communication skills and a passion for continued professional development for yourself and others.
  • You value working with supportive and dedicated health professionals and multidisciplinary teams.
