Health Information Manager

The Health Information Manager will have a focus on supporting the bed-based services across the Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Service including Inpatient Units, Residential Units, ECT, Emergency Mental Health and Consultation Liaison teams. The role will play a crucial part in ensuring the service is appropriately collecting, using and releasing health information. This is a people-oriented position embedded within the service, working directly alongside clinical and administrative staff.
Your new role:
- Participate in a range of exciting projects and initiatives as the Mental Health system continues its transformation.
- Play a pivotal role in supporting the service’s success with the new Activity Based Funding model.
- Develop and apply expertise in the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act and other medicolegal requirements.
- Be well supported by a range of experts who will guide your learning and development.
About you:
- You form strong working relationships and enjoy engaging directly with clinical, administrative and support staff in a largely face-to-face capacity.
- You are interested in applying your high level of attention to detail, problem solving and process-oriented thinking in an interesting and growing setting.
- You are comfortable educating colleagues on a range of Information Management topics.
- You have experience working in a health setting and are eligible for membership with the Health Information Management Association of Australia.
