Your new team
Forming part of the Orygen Specialist Program (OSP), a program of The Royal Melbourne Hospital, the Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health Service (FYMHS) team provides specialist youth mental healthcare in custodial settings (Parkville and Cherry Creek sites) to young people and their families/carers.
Custodial FYMHS is in an exciting period of significant growth as a result of the Royal Commission and evolution of Victorian Mental Health Services. Our specialist multidisciplinary team provide enhanced services to young people in custody, with a focus on recovery-oriented care.
Your new role
Join us in a newly created specialist role, within the Custodial FYMHS Service improvement and Support team (SIST). Comprised of 4 domains (administration, quality improvement, research/fidelity, and monitoring and evaluation), the team focuses on the ongoing improvement of the Custodial FYMHS service.
The Evaluation and Monitoring Consultant is responsible for providing expert skills, advice, training and strategic guidance and support to staff and FYMHS Leadership in the development and implementation of service development activities, evaluation and governance reporting.
Role Responsibilities:

Plan, lead and design end to end evaluations, including theories of change, program logics, methodology and methods, data monitoring, collection and analysis, translation and reporting, and implementation and utilisation.

Supporting service monitoring, reporting, and improvement through resolving collection issues, coordinating and writing documentation and undertaking consultation regarding best practices and data collection.

Supporting the Orygen OSP and FYMHS leadership group in the delivery of monitoring and reporting, evaluation, design and communication to key stakeholders including Justice Health and Youth Justice.

Provide and support governance and oversite for evaluation and research initiative within the service.

Based across Parkville & Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precincts. As such, travel to the workplace destination can be included within the working hours.
About You:
-
Appropriate qualifications and experience in Public Health, Evaluation or other related field.

Experience working within the public mental health service system.
-
Knowledge and understanding of the youth justice and/or criminal justice system and other relevant community based forensic services.

Understanding of evaluation methodologies and frameworks with skills and experience utilising these in the monitoring, development, and implementation of evaluations and service improvements.
