Social Worker (SW2)

  • Ongoing full­-time role with monthly ADO in the Orygen Inpatient Unit.

About your new team:

Orygen Specialist Program (OSP) provides specialist mental health services, focusing on early intervention, for young people aged 15 to 25 with severe and complex mental illness.

Our Inpatient Unit (IPU) is located in Footscray on the Western Hospital site. The IPU includes a 16­bed low dependency area and a further three beds (ICA­EAST) for targeted specialised service delivery for youth with complex mental health and psychosocial needs.

Your new role:

  • Provide specialist Social Work interventions for mental health consumers.
  • Work with lived ­experience workforce and families/carers to support young people in their recovery goals.
  • Provide inclusive and sensitive practice to young people and their families/carers from Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander, CALD and LGBTQIA backgrounds.
     

About You:

  • You have demonstrated mental health experience with a collaborative working style.
  • You have excellent communication skills and a passion for continued professional development for yourself and others.
  • You are a qualified Social Worker, eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers .
  • You value working with supportive and dedicated health professionals and multidisciplinary teams.
