Nephrology Administrative Assistant

- Work within a multi-disciplinary department as part of one of the largest Nephrology services in Australia.
- Play an integral role in ensuring the effective delivery of administrative functions within the department.

The Nephrology service at The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of the largest Nephrology services in the country. It provides dialysis care to over 500 patients across the state, and transplantation services to over 1700 patients . We have strong affiliations with several metropolitan and regional health services, and are committed to patient-centred care, providing excellent kidney care through innovation and research.
Your role:
- Assist in reception duties and answering incoming communications via phone, fax, email and post.
- Complete patient registration, data entry, maintenance of medical records and other database management.
- Assist in scheduling outpatient bookings, confirmations and incoming referrals.
- Complete administrative tasks across the department to ensure smooth delivery of services.
About you:
- Proven experience as part of a medical administration team.
- Advanced computer skills, especially Windows-based programs, and preferred previous experience with an electronic medical record, such as iPM and EPIC.
- Well-developed communication skills, with a demonstarted ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Motivated, enthusiastic, self-starter and patient-focussed.
