Grade 2 Hand Therapist
Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist
The Allied Health department provides a strong teamwork culture in both the Hand Therapy team and multi-disciplinary group. We have a commitment to training, education and CPD activities i.e. internal education opportunities and professional development available in varied specialties, held during working hours on site. The role is supported by a grade 4 clinical leader, senior clinicians, OT research leader, and the OT manager. The Occupational Therapy team consists of over 100 staff members who work across the City and Royal Park Campuses in acute, sub-acute and community-based services across a range of specialties.
Your new role:
- Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist with emerging clinical experience and skills in plastics / hand therapy to join our dynamic multidisciplinary surgery team.
- A clinical caseload is largely traumatic injuries both in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
- You will work alongside a dedicated and skilled team of clinicians.
- Clinical education and professional development is encouraged and supported
- The position is ongoing and based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, City Campus.
About you:
- Ability to provide excellent, evidence based and patient centred care including assessment, intervention, splint fabrication and discharge planning for patients
- Ability to manage a demanding workload, effectively prioritise tasks, and contribute to service development.
- Supervise and educate junior hand therapists, allied health assistants and allied health students
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
- You are an AHPRA registered Allied Health Professional dedicated to providing evidence-based practice
- You value working with supportive and dedicated Hand Therapists and multidisciplinary teams.
