The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.


We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Food Services team. This is a Casual position, based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Park Campus.

Your Opportunity:


Food Services interact with staff, patients, relatives and colleagues and their actions and behaviours are guided by patient centred care, unity, and respect. Duties include:

  • Prepare and deliver meals to patients
  • Ensure a clean kitchen environment is maintained
  • Liaise with team leaders and ward staff
  • Use of chemicals
  • Deliver and return of all trolleys, food items and utensils from kitchen, wards and other areas
  • Stripping of all meal trays and separation of components ready for washing
  • Operation of dishwashing

 

About You:

 

  • Basic Food Handling Certificate
  • Completed Certificate 3 in Health Patient Services, a PSA, PCA certificate or equivalent Certificate 3 in Health
  • Excellent work ethic, customer service skills, time management skills and the ability to successfully work in a team environment
  • Ability to safely use cleaning supplies & equipment
  • Participate in a roster and work in an allocated area and other areas as requested
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
    • 0630-1500
    • 0930-1330
    • 1600-2000
