About The Role:
The Bioethicist – Indigenous Health Practice, Education and Research will lead a program of education and training to improve the staff learning experience and outcomes across new and existing First Nations Health. This position will lead growing, increasingly productive, high-quality Indigenous Health Research, scholarship and creative activities, generating high impact output.
Working alongside a collaborative, supportive team, you will provide ethical expertise and leadership in service of effective, efficient, culturally safe care, as well as deliver training and support to the First Nations Health Unit to identify, analyse and resolve ethical issues arising in patient care, including participation in clinical ethics case consultation.
About You:
- PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g. Bioethics, Health Ethics, Health Law).
- Commitment to live the Melbourne Way - putting people first, leading with kindness and achieving excellence together.
- Excellent record of scholarly teaching or health professional training.
- Nationally recognised research reputation underpinned by publications in quality journals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with First Nations colleagues and communities.
