Revenue Officer

Royal Melbourne Hospital

  • Fixed Term 9 Months - Full Time
  • Grade 2 (HS2) + Super

We're seeking a dedicated and results-oriented Revenue Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our revenue cycle by raising and collecting patient fees.

Your new department

RMH Revenue Services provides a range of services for the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) and its patients. The role of Revenue Services is to maximise the identification, capture and collection of revenue in a timely, accurate and transparent manner across Melbourne Health.  


Your new role 

  • Accurately generating and collecting patient accounts
  • Managing aged trial balances and rejections
  • Implementing effective strategies to support revenue growth and maximise debtor recovery for RMH
  • Providing exceptional customer service to patients and staff
  • Participating in continuous improvement projects and playing a role in automation developments as a billing subject matter expert


About you

  • A positive, can do attitude who is adaptable and collaborative individual
  • A team player, who is willing to continuously improve and challenge the current state
  • Ability to analyse and problem solve when interpreting data
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills, including a proven capacity to build and maintain effective and productive relationships 
  • Experience in hospital billing and debt collection
